Sugar mills are committed to the economic, social, environmental and cultural growth of the underprivileged in an equitable and sustainable manner. Over the years, the sugar mills have been working for the enrichment of lives across these communities by creating sustainable livelihoods, promoting education, healthcare, sanitation, etc.
Sugar mills made significant contribution towards education and healthcare improvement to make it more affordable. Understanding the importance of safe and sustainable menstrual hygiene practices, mills have installed sanitary pad dispensers and incinerators in schools and are actively contributing to the well-being of students.
Sugar mills are also engaged in welfare activities i.e. land irrigation, hand pumps installation, renovation of water ponds, drinking water facility, disaster management, plantation, conservation of natural resources etc.
Under CSR, other projects include development of sewing centres for women, distribution of ration, installation of solar street lights and distribution of useful items etc. are provided.
